The Blue Ridge Parkway is known as
 "America's Favorite Drive!"
There's 469 miles of scenic places, historic sites, trails and overlooks!! We got on the parkway in Cherokee, NC and drove 160 miles
of the southern section.

The Wild Azalea was in full bloom as was the Rhododendron!!

The Highest Elevation on the
Blue Ridge Parkway.

Absolutely beautiful !!!

howdy there Suzan, so glad to see you've stopped by! I am sure enjoying this post...looking at those beautiful mountains...and the childhood memories just come flooding back.....what gorgeous scenery. Love your pictures, especially the bubbling streams and the pretty spring blooms! Sure loved this post and just read the previous one as well, enjoyed the visit to the Atlanta much history to be learned there--loved your pictures! I spend a lot of time traipsing through the old cemeteries here in Charleston, I've learned so much about the history and the people who came before us. They are fascinating places!

I lived in Virginia for a 18 months after college and hiked the parkway many, many times. It is gorgeous. Thank you for the beautiful reminder.
