ALCATRAZ ISLAND

We purchased our tickets
ahead of time, on line.
There is a fairly good snack bar at Pier 33
where you wait for your boat.

Before visiting Alcatraz,
we watched the 1979 movie,
"Escape from Alcatraz" which was filmed here
since the jail was closed in the early 1960s.
Below are some of the movie props left behind.
Another good movie is the "Birdman of Alcatraz!"
This was a time when prison was a punishment
and not rehab!
The warden's home.

An Inescapable Experience!!
Well worth your time!

I visited Alcatraz Island once. The whole time I was thinking how to escape. It was fun.
