There are no guarantees when it comes to love. There is no way to tell whether the person you walk down the aisle with is the one with whom you will grow old. And there's no way of knowing what
the years in between will be like ahead of time.
the years in between will be like ahead of time.
One of the scariest parts of being in a relationship is the uncertainty of it all. Opening your heart to someone and letting them in to see who you truly are and not knowing if that person has the feelings you have for him.
I am blessed to be married to my best friend.
At times I wonder what keeps us together, especially after this past election and living in a house divided, and then there are our decorating tastes. He is most comfortable with blank, white walls; whereas I want every square foot painted/papered and something hanging.
But it's Danny who is here when I drag in from work and it's Danny that will stand there
and listen to me moan and groan.
and listen to me moan and groan.
Since he has retired, he has taken it upon himself to help around the house. He cooks, does the dishes, does our laundry and vacuums the floors.
There's always a "honey do list" that he's working on and when I call out, "Dan--neeee" he's there to make the TV work,
fix my computer when it messes up
or fix the oven when it breaks.
And this was all in one weekend!
fix my computer when it messes up
or fix the oven when it breaks.
And this was all in one weekend!
Then at the end of the day we share,
we talk and we're together.
we talk and we're together.
I am truly blessed. . .
with my love and my best friend.

We are both blessed to have good husbands! What a sweetie he is to help around the house, too. My hubby will be grilling tonight...gotta love that! Happy Sunday!
If a relationship can survive this last election, you guys really have something special! Really, how awesome is that! It's nice to have a spouse that pitches in with the housework. My hubby helps me as well and after being married before to a selfish arse I really know to be grateful. Beautiful post, Suz!
you are indeed blessed to have each other! :)
What an absolutely lovely post. Danny will, no doubt, be delighted. Loved it. Susan
